What is a water tank blow molding machine?
A water tank blow molding machine is a large extrusion blow molding machine that forms HDPE storage tanks in one piece. A big parison has to be extruded quickly and evenly, so these machines use an accumulator die head that stores the melt and pushes it out at once, a multi-point parison controller to keep the wall thickness even over a tall part, and a take-out device to lift the finished tank out of the mold. Tongda’s 1200 L, 1600 L and 2000 L series combines an accumulator die head, a 100-point parison controller, a bottom blowing device and a take-out device.

What to decide before you order
- Tank volume and shape. They set the clamping force, platen size and accumulator volume, and so the machine model.
- Wall thickness and weight. Tell us the target weight; the parison controller distributes material to the corners and the base, where tanks take the most load.
- Material. Water tanks are usually HDPE. See HDPE blow molding machines.
- Output and automation. Take-out devices, deflashing and a chiller, crusher and air compressor complete the line. See ancillary equipment.

What size water tank can a Tongda blow molding machine make?

Can the same machine make water tanks and IBC tanks?
Yes. The TDB-1200L, TDB-1200F/P and HT-1500L can each be configured for water tanks, chemical drums and other large industrial containers, with a mold for each product.
