By Suzhou Tongda Machinery

A Tongda model name follows the maximum container volume that machine is built to make. It is not a promise of containers per hour. Output depends on the product and on how the machine is configured. This page does not include a capacity table.

The model name is a volume, not a rate

When a model is described by a container volume, that figure is the largest container the name refers to. Two machines in the same volume class can be set up differently. The name alone does not say how many accepted pieces you will pack in a day.

Published model pages, where Tongda has released them, are the place to read a figure that belongs to that model. Do not turn the volume in the name into pieces per hour.

Three figures to ask for on your mold

Ask Tongda for these three items against your drawing and your mold:

  1. Extruder output, in kilograms per hour.
  2. The dry-cycle time for that machine configuration.
  3. Accepted pieces per hour on your mold.

A dry cycle is not accepted production. Kilograms per hour are not pieces per hour. Pieces per hour have to be quoted on the mold you will run, because the product and the configuration change the result.

Why the largest container is not everyday output

Everyday output is lower or higher than a buyer sometimes expects from the model name because of the product itself and the way the machine is set up. Cooling, trimming flash, the operator’s pace and the resin all sit between a volume class and the containers you can accept. None of those is a fixed percentage. Tongda does not publish a single “real output is this share of the nameplate” figure.

How to sketch the number of machines

Use blanks until the pieces-per-hour figure for your mold is quoted. Do not fill them with a sample plant.

  • Accepted pieces per hour on your mold: ______
  • Accepted pieces per hour the plant needs: ______
  • Machines to discuss: needed pieces per hour ÷ accepted pieces per hour on that mold

That sketch only shows the question. It is not a Tongda rating.

Where to start

Compare machines by volume class on blow molding machines for sale, then open the product page for jerry cans, chemical drums, IBC tanks or HDPE containers. Send the drawing and the pieces per hour you need through the contact page.

Does the litre figure in a Tongda model name mean containers per hour?

No. The model name follows the maximum container volume. Output depends on the product and the machine configuration.

Which output figures should I ask Tongda to quote?

Ask for kilograms per hour, the dry-cycle time, and accepted pieces per hour on your mold. This page does not publish a capacity table for those figures.
