Severe-weather protection for blow molding equipment

Severe weather can interrupt utilities, introduce moisture and create unsafe restart conditions. A prepared shutdown and inspection plan helps protect both personnel and production equipment.

Before the storm

Complete an orderly shutdown, isolate electrical power where appropriate and protect control cabinets from water ingress. Secure loose materials and verify drainage around the production area.

During the event

Keep personnel away from energized equipment and flooded areas. Do not attempt to restart machinery while power quality, water ingress or structural safety remains uncertain.

Inspection before restart

Check cabinets, wiring, hydraulic systems, lubrication and cooling circuits. Dry affected components thoroughly, restore utilities in sequence and use a controlled no-load test before resuming production.
