What counts as a small blow molding machine?
Tongda’s small blow molding machines are compact industrial extrusion blow molding machines for containers up to 5 L: cosmetic and skincare bottles, shampoo and detergent bottles, milk bottles, motor oil bottles and small jerry cans. They run HDPE and PP, produce continuously around the clock, and use multi-cavity die heads to make several small bottles per cycle. They are not desktop or hobby machines; the smallest model, the HTS II-2L, has a 44 kN clamping force and produces 60 kg of HDPE per hour.
Small blow molding machines compared
| Model | Max. container | HDPE output | Clamping force | Screw | Drive and stations |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HTS II-2L | 2 L | 60 kg/h | 44 kN | 60 mm | Hydraulic, double station |
| HTS II-5L | 5 L | 110 kg/h | 110 kN | 80 mm | Hydraulic, double station |
| HS II-5L | 5 L | 110 kg/h | 110 kN | 80 mm | Servo, double station |
| HSE-5L | 5 L | 100 kg/h | 150 kN | 60 mm | Fully electric, single station |
| HSE II-5L | 5 L | 160 kg/h | 150 kN | 80 mm | Fully electric, double station |
Figures are from each model’s page. Hourly bottle output depends on bottle weight, cavities and cycle time; send your bottle for a production estimate.
Multi-head machines for very small bottles
For bottles from 30 mL to 500 mL, the 3L multi-head machine can be built with single or double stations and with four or six die heads. The six-head layout has a 70 mm center distance and the four-head layout 100 mm, so more bottles are formed in every cycle.
Choosing between the small models
- Lowest investment for standard bottles: the hydraulic HTS II series.
- Lower energy use with the same capacity: the servo HS II-5L, from the servo series.
- Medical, food or electronic chemical bottles that need clean production: the fully electric HSE series, built for 10 mL to 50 L cleanroom-grade containers.
- Highest output of 5 L containers: the double station HSE II-5L at 160 kg/h of HDPE.
Typical products
Small machines make daily chemical bottles, milk bottles, small jerry cans and cosmetic bottles. Most are made from HDPE; see HDPE blow molding machines. For the full range up to 2,000 L, see all extrusion blow molding machines.
What is the smallest blow molding machine Tongda makes?
The HTS II-2L is the smallest model, for containers up to 2 L, with a 44 kN clamping force and 60 kg/h of HDPE output. For bottles from 30 mL to 500 mL, the multi-head 3L machine forms four or six bottles per cycle.
Can a small blow molding machine make PET bottles?
No. These are extrusion blow molding machines for HDPE and PP. PET beverage bottles are made on stretch blow molding machines from preforms.
How much does a small blow molding machine cost?
Price depends on the number of stations and die heads, the drive and the automation. See blow molding machine price and options, or send your bottle for a quotation.
