What is a hydraulic blow molding machine?
A hydraulic blow molding machine drives the mold clamping, carriage and parison movements with a hydraulic pump. The extruder melts HDPE or PP pellets into a parison, the hydraulic clamp closes the mold around it, and compressed air blows it into the finished container. Hydraulic drives are the proven, cost-effective choice for bottles, jerry cans and small drums, and they are the entry point to Tongda’s extrusion blow molding machines.
Hydraulic models by container size
| Model | Max. container | Stations | Typical products |
|---|---|---|---|
| HTS II-2L | 2 L | Double | Daily chemical and milk bottles |
| HTS II-5L | 5 L | Double | Detergent bottles, 5 L jerry cans |
| HTS II-8L | 8 L | Double | Jerry cans, lubricant containers |
| HTS II-12L | 12 L | Double | Jerry cans |
| HS-12L | 12 L | Single | Jerry cans, chemical containers |
| TDB-10F | 10 L | Single | Containers and technical parts |
| TDB-25F | 25 L | Single | Jerry cans, stackable buckets |
| HS-30L | 30 L | Single | Chemical drums, jerry cans |
Double station HTS II machines move two molds under one die head for higher hourly output on bottles and jerry cans. Single station HS and TDB machines suit larger parts and lower volumes.
When to choose hydraulic
- You make bottles, jerry cans or drums up to 30 L and want the lowest investment per machine.
- Your plant already runs hydraulic equipment and your maintenance team knows it.
- You need a wide choice of capacities and die heads.
For larger containers, where energy use per part is higher, compare the servo series. For clean production of small containers, see the fully electric series.
Hydraulic, servo or fully electric?
| Drive | Best suited to | Series |
|---|---|---|
| Hydraulic | Bottles, jerry cans and drums up to 30 L, at the lowest purchase price | Hydraulic machines |
| Servo hydraulic | Medium and large containers from 5 L to 1,200 L, where energy savings are largest | Servo machines |
| Fully electric | Clean, precise production of 10 mL to 50 L containers | Fully electric machines |
Applications
Hydraulic machines in this series produce daily chemical bottles, milk bottles, jerry cans and stackable buckets.
What is the difference between HTS II and HS hydraulic machines?
HTS II machines are double station models for 2 to 12 L containers, built for high output of bottles and jerry cans. HS machines in this series are single station models for 12 and 30 L containers.
Which hydraulic machine should I choose for a 5 L jerry can?
The HTS II-5L is the usual choice for 5 L jerry cans and detergent bottles. Read how to choose a 5 L jerry can blow molding machine.
